Image of the Artist in His Father's Work
The inspiration for this photography based blog is rooted in new perspectives. Photograhy, at the most basic level, is a represenation of something or some moment that once was; something that existed in a given moment at a given time. Photography is truly unique in that it not only captures that thing or that moment, but it also captures what the artist sees in that thing or that moment, what the artist feels about the subject, consciously and unconsciously. The photographer owns a unique perspective that brings new meaning to an existing subject. The photos posted are intended to focus on this aspect of the fundamental nature of photography. While this 'mission' may seem relatively pointed and specific, the possibilities, in reality, have no limit...

The photgraph pictured in "Image of the Artist..." is entitled "Isthmus of the Uruguayan Deterrant -> 110" by John R. Grady.
Me likes.
I promptly went out and took a similar, but less deck, picture. I like the ideas you have about photography. I look forward to your on-going project and would love to open a dialouge between our photo-spots for discussion and thoughts on photography. Rock on.
